About

Lab-grade running biomechanics, that meets you where you are.

Gamana exists because the forces applied to your body, which shape performance and health, are inaccessible to almost every runner today.

Our mission

Clock in those miles, or don't. Your body, your intuition, your decision.

We are here to support your decision-making by handing you a powerful lever you can pull on — the forces applied to your body, within the context of how you are feeling, sleeping, eating, and so much more.

How it works

Our model learns your individual movement patterns and then predicts the forces applied to your body per-step. Every run produces a single load number you can compare day-to-day, and simulate tomorrow's run. Then, our prompts encourage you to plan for tomorrow based on how you are feeling today.

Why it matters

"I ran 5 miles yesterday and I plan to run 5 miles tomorrow, just as hard. The physical demands on my body should be comparable, right?"

Not necessarily! The same 5 miles run at the same speed or intensity can change the forces applied to your body depending on how many steps you take per minute, how long each step is, the degree to which you flex and extend your joints per step, and more. Gamana captures this by estimating the forces applied to your body rather than leaving you to infer load from distance, time, pace, or heart rate alone.

Forces shape how you propel yourself off the ground as you move forward, influencing both performance and the demands placed on your bones, muscles, and other soft tissues over time, contributing to how they adapt to training.
